Church Audit:

Helping Shape Our Future Together

Over the coming weeks, we invite everyone connected to St Andrew’s in the Grange to take part in a church audit as we reflect on the future life and direction of our congregation.

This process is inspired by Sam Wells and his book A Future That’s Bigger Than Our Past. In the book, Wells encourages churches to think deeply and honestly about who they are, what they value, and how they are called to serve their communities in changing times.

Rather than simply asking what we can preserve from the past, this audit invites us to ask:

What kind of church are we becoming?
Where is God already at work among us?
What strengths, gifts, challenges, and opportunities do we see?
How can we serve Guernsey with hope, courage, and compassion in the years ahead?

To make the process manageable and thoughtful, we have divided the audit into five separate sections. You do not need to complete everything at once. Instead, each audit focuses on one area at a time, allowing space for reflection, honesty, and conversation.

We hope this will be a shared process of listening and discernment, where every voice matters. Whether you have been part of the church for decades or are newer to the community, your experiences and perspectives are important.
